Each Autopilot run is saved as a project. This article covers what's in each tab and what you can do with the results: reveal emails, find more contacts, leave out companies, export, and share.
To open a project you've created, go to My Projects under Projects in the left sidebar.
Above the tabs, a banner shows whether the project is linked to a tech assessment. Choose Create tech assessment to start one from the project, or Link existing to connect one you already have.
The tabs
Companies
Up to 30 companies that best match your technology, ranked by how well they fit, with the reasons each one matched.
Select companies to act on them from the bar above the list: Save them to a list, Export them, Find Contacts, Exclude, Send to CRM, or Send to Minuet. To add a company Autopilot didn't find, choose Add Companies +.
People
The people Autopilot found at those companies, with 2–3 contacts per company to start. If you need more, see Find more contacts below.
Email addresses aren't revealed automatically. Choosing Get email on a contact reveals it and uses one email credit. Exporting contacts also takes a credit for each contact you have not already revealed the email for in platform. Once revealed, it stays visible. See Understanding Email Credits.
Market Reports
The Market Report in an Autopilot run loads around six markets the initiative is applicable to, along with their size and growth and relevant Top Companies and Niche Companies you can reach out to. To see more applicable markets, choose Load more. This is only in Research & Partnerships runs, not Career Services.
Summary
A plain-language summary of your initiative. This is only in Research & Partnerships runs, not Career Services.
Job Openings
Current job openings at the matched companies, which you can search and filter. This is only in Career Services runs, not Research & Partnerships.
Emails
This tab lists the emails sent to people in this project through the platform.
Other tabs
Depending on your account, you may also see a Research tab. If your institution uses Minuet, a Minuet Marketing tab shows the linked technology's marketing targets and activity.
Additional Details
Below the tabs on each page, you'll find the text and files you gave Autopilot (Input Text), the project's Stats, and all the way at the bottom, Notes your team can add to.
Find more contacts
If you need more people than the run found, open the Companies tab, select the companies you'd like contacts for, and choose Find Contacts at the top. On the People tab, the same option is called Find More Contacts. You can look across all the companies in the project, at one specific company, or for particular job titles, such as CTO or VP Innovation. New contacts are added to the project as they're found, and FirstIgnite tells you if it couldn't add contacts for any company.
Remove companies
To remove companies that aren't a fit, select them in the Companies tab and choose Exclude. They and their contacts disappear from the project. A bar at the top shows how many companies are excluded. Use Recently Excluded to undo one, or Manage to see and edit the full list.
You can also remove companies and contacts one by one from a list. Scroll down the project and open Top Companies, Top People, or another list you've added to the project. Select the companies or contacts, then choose Remove.
Export, download, and share
Export at the top of the project offers Download PDF and Export to Excel. Export to Excel opens the Export project window, where you can give the file a name (optional), choose the Export language, and choose whether to include column headers (on by default) and each company's matched reasons. You can also include emails from people you haven't revealed yet, which uses one email credit per email, and pick which columns to include under Company Fields and People Fields. Choose Export, and the spreadsheet is emailed to you.
Download PDF saves the project as a PDF.
Share lets you share the project with your team, with chosen teammates, or through a public link.
Edit Details lets you rename the project.
Send to FirstIgnite's CRM
To add people from a project to FirstIgnite's CRM, select them and choose Send to CRM. When it's done, a message links to each record it added. People without a verified email address are skipped, and the message says how many.
If your institution uses Minuet, that's a separate step. Select the rows and choose Send to Minuet. See Sending a list of companies and contacts to Minuet CRM.
Quick answers
Question | Answer |
Does Autopilot email people for me? | No. Autopilot finds companies and contacts, and you decide who to reach out to. You can email contacts yourself from the People tab, one at a time or with Bulk Email, and they appear in the Emails tab. |
Is 2–3 contacts per company the limit? | No. That's what a run starts with. Use Find Contacts or Find More Contacts to add more. |
The counts are still changing. | Autopilot is still matching contacts. Wait until the Autopilot is still running banner goes away. |
I excluded a company by mistake. | Undo it from Recently Excluded or Manage. The company and its contacts come back. |
Where's my export? | It's emailed to you. Large projects can take a few minutes. |
