FirstIgnite's Funding module helps your institution discover grant opportunities and contract data relevant to your researchers. Navigate to Funding in the left sidebar to access Grants and Contracts.
Grants (Beta)
The Grant Opportunity Search lets you find funding opportunities using natural language or manual filters. Describe what you're looking for in plain English and FirstIgnite will automatically extract structured search filters from your query, including research topic, institution, location, and eligibility. You can also set filters manually for more precise control.
Each grant result includes a match score that indicates how well the opportunity aligns with faculty at your institution. Results are organized into two views:
View | What It Shows |
Good Match | Grants with a top faculty match score of 60% or above — the most relevant results for your institution |
All Grants | The full set of matching grants, including those that may not yet have strong faculty matches |
Contracts (Beta)
The Contracts section provides access to contract and agreement data relevant to your institution's research areas. Browse available contracts to identify collaboration and funding opportunities beyond traditional grants.
